Since Judd is a visual learner, his therapeutic style strongly relies on visual intervention strategies. One can expect to experience a cognitive behavioral approach, depending upon uncovering the role of core held beliefs and their connection to emotion and behavior. When working with couples, Judd will utilize some of Gottman’s strategies with Sue Johnson’s Emotion Focused Therapy. Being intentional about change, Judd will require hard work through creating action plans to facilitate change between sessions.

Judd enjoys continuing education and has supplemented his ongoing training with seminars and conference workshops on Sandtray Therapy, Experiential Therapies, Couples Therapy, as well as business and practice management workshops.

A bit more…..

When out of the office, Judd enjoys outdoor hobbies including backpacking and making maple syrup.

Being introduced to backpacking at a young age, Judd continues to enjoy leading outdoor expeditions with a church ministry he leads, Wilderness Journeymen. The lower the temperature and the higher the elevation suits him just fine. Backpacking and canoeing over the past decades has taken him as far south as North Carolina, north to New Hampshire, and west to Colorado.

In 2013, Judd entered into the maple syrup industry as a hobby producer. The first year included lots of Home Depot buckets and a homemade 40 gallon boiler, making 8 gallons. After nearly a decade of developing greater efficiency and lots of learning through workshops, his hobby has grown into a small side business
